Winter / Spring 2025
Over the weekend, we kicked off the 2025 craft fair year at Old Gruene Market Days in New Braunfels. Even though it was a cold and windy weekend, many wonderful folks braved the weather to come visit our booth.
Recently, we invested in an X1 Tectonic 10x20 canopy from Extreme Canopies. The storms and wind gusts of 2024 made an impression on us and we wanted a booth that could handle Texas weather. The new canopy performed as expected in some pretty powerful wind gusts over the weekend. At point, the 150+ pound structure lifted straight off the ground even though we had several hundred pounds weights on the legs.
If it wasn’t for the quick thinking and assistance from our fellow vendors, we could have lost several displays full of art and toys. We’re so grateful to our friends at Gruene Market for helping us get things in order so quickly. That legendary Texas wind could’ve wrecked the weekend. The next challenge is going to be keeping the displays from falling over in the strong winds.
As the pictures above can show, we ordered an orange canopy because we liked the color. However, we discovered that sunlight filtering through the canopy top colored everything orange… especially the art. So, we’ve ordered a traditional white replacement top for the next event.
Our new cargo trailer is a game changer.
In addition to the new booth, we acquired a large 12ft. cargo trailer from the great people at Big Tex Trailer World in Buda, TX. This was a game changer. It made our load in/out so much easier. It also allows us to begin producing larger art as we now have a way to transport it.
In fact, we are signed up for at least 12 events this year including including Gruene Market Days in New Braunfels, Founders Day Festival in Dripping Springs, the Lavender Festival in Blanco and Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg.
We are considering adding a few 1-day events to the schedule over the course of the year. We will keep you posted on our Events Page.
